Winning the Next Big Star will bring you everything you need to start a successful Rimpage career
tournament rules and format
- 1v1 Double-elimination. Two losses and you’re out.
- Play to 25 rounds or to 12 by 1’s and 2’s with shot boxes (worth 3 and 4 points). Whoever has the highest score after 25 rounds is the winner.
- 15-second shot clock
- Possession changes after made basket
- If you back opponent down, shot must be taken from outside the key or be fading away from basket
- You get 1 strategic intentional foul. After that intentional fouls result in 1 free throw + possession.
- Offensive player is allowed a maximum of 2 shot attempts (provided he gets the offensive rebound)
- Ball out of bounds results in change of possession regardless of who touched it last.
- Players may request 1 review. If they are right, they retain their review.
- Match is forfeited by player who is late by more than 3 minutes

What is the Next Big Star Tournament format?

What happens when I sign up?
We will ask you to send a couple of basketball photos of you so we can promote you (photos should be clear with good lighting, (no hats or glasses), basketball related, no group photos, full body or cropped, size no smaller than 2000px X 2000px
How can I get a highlight video or photos?
We will email you the link to order photos and highlight videos from our website.
When will I know the results of the seed draw?
We will release the results on April 12 by noon.
What time do I need to show up on Day 1?
Please arrive at least 1 hour before the start time for photos and processing. Must arrive at least 30 minutes before your match start time or your opponent wins by forfeit. After 2 losses you are out of the tournament.
When will the venue be announced?
Venue will be announced no later than April 10. You will be sent an email. Please check your email regularly for all updates about the tournament.
What is a round?
Rimpage matches are played to 25 rounds. A round is two possessions, one for player A and one for player B. Each time both players have a possession, that counts as one round.
What if the score is tied after 25 rounds?
The player who reached his score first is the winner.
